So What’s Changed?
First and foremost, the biggest difference between the Glycerin 20 to the previous Glycerin 19 is going to be the upgraded midsole. Brooks uses different versions of their DNA LOFT foam in shoes that prioritize more comfort and less impact over speed and responsiveness. It’s a specific blend of foam, rubber, air, and in the newest version, nitrogen. The Glycerin 19 utilized the first version of DNA LOFT while the updated Glycerin 20 is riding high on the nitrogen-infused v3, similar to the Aurora-BL. With this update, the midsole is ultimately softer, lighter, and slightly more responsive than the previous versions.
The upper is the next big thing that’s been redesigned with a new plush, engineered air-mesh upper. For owner unfamiliar, an “engineered mesh upper” is simply a custom-designed and strategically woven mesh that helps improve the overall structure and breathability of the upper. This new upper is designed to be comfortable, breathable, and more secure than ever.
Last but not least, the outsole and midsole have been collectively widened ever so slightly with this update, offering a touch more stability and aiding in smoother, easier transitions.
