Philippe Model has been passionate about art since his early days. He designed his first hat as a twelve-year-old boy. In 1978 he launched his eponymous brand and started to work with the fashion finest creators like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Claude Montana and Madame Paulette. In the 1980s the Elastique was born - his first iconic and revolutionary shoe which became the symbol of a modern woman. In 1983 he opened his first Parisian boutique. In the 1990s, apart from running his company, Philippe was also at the creative helm of fashion houses: from Inès de La Fressange to Lanvin, Kenzo and Dior. Model’s designs are being appreciated worldwide in the New York MET museum and major museums in Australia, France, Spain and the Netherlands.
