Cannes Film Festival taking place every year in the Southern France is a genuine celebration of aspiring films. While movie productions compete for the Palme d’Or, the celebrities saunter through the red carpet presenting the latest collections of the world-renowned designers. There are plenty opportunities to show an evening wear. Here is our subjective list of gowns that will make history.

1. Eva Longoria - Marchesa

Eva Longoria - a model and an actress - dazzled press during red carpet ceremony with transparent, form-fitting, embroidered gown with a train, in the shape of a mermaid from Marchesa.

2. Sara Sampaio - Francesco Scognamiglio

Victoria’s Secret Portuguese angel couldn’t make another choice that evening. Angelic white, sheer lace dress with basque designed by Francesco Scognamiglio was presented by Sara Sampaio.

3. Sonam Kapoor - Elie Saab

Indian beauty Sonam Kapoor appeared in a royal dress featuring wide skirt from Elie Saab. She also choose matching clutch and a statement ring to go with translucent golden outfit. 

4. Bella Hadid - Roberto Cavalli

2016 was hailed as Bella Hadid year. Younger sister of top model Gigi Hadid clad herself in see-through silver Roberto Cavalli slip dress for Naomi Campbell’s ‘Fashion for Relief’ charitable event during Cannes Film Festival.  

5. Jessica Chastain - Givenchy Haute Couture

Her speech in defense of women’s rights and equal rights during one of the Cannes Film Festival conferences is still echoing in the industry. Just like her purple gown from Givenchy evoking 1920s.

6. Elle Fanning - Gucci

New Gucci collections are always described as avant-garde. Current aesthetic of Alessandro Michele’s brand was faultlessly presented by Elle Fanning. Minty-green backless dress finished with blooming gardenias at the bottom matched her girly looks exquisitely. 

7. Winnie Harlow - Zuhair Murad

Winnie Harlow is a brilliant model suffering from Vitiligo, who has always fought against prejudice and classic beauty canon in the model world. She was donning majestical cobalt dress with bare shoulders from Zuhair Murad.

8. Elle Fanning - Vivienne Westwood

We loved creations of this young actress so much we decided to mention her gown yet again. This time our attention was drew by killer white dress with train from Vivienne Westwood.  

9. Laetitia Casta - Saint Laurent

The French model and actress Laetitia Casta put on maxi, asymmetric Saint Laurent dress with split revealing her thigh. Casta’s robe was crafted from black velvet while split was encrusted with jewels. 

10. Monica Bellucci - Dior Couture 

Last, but not least, Monica Bellucci - the Italian beauty was an exemplary adornment of the main ceremony of the 70th Cannes Film Festival. She graced the event with black see-through flared dress from Dior Couture.
